The ATF Soaring Trike (ATF = Air Time Fix) adds power to your hang glider so you can climb to the thermals and power-off for lightweight trike soaring! You can use your hang glider with the ATF Trike, or use our specially-designed Stratus XP wing which has been built specifically for this lightweight trike, with a state-of-the-art airfoil design. The double surface Stratus XP wing provides best performance for cross-country, has a great sink rate and slow-speed handling, and is best for short-field take-offs. No mountain, no problem!
Imagine! Ascend effortlessly up to cloudbase. Shut the engine off and soar in silence with the birds all afternoon. When the lift gets light, pull the overhead starter and fly back to your flying field. The new Maverick 2 trike frame has been extended to maximize storage space behind the pilot, enable additional fuel storage, camping equipment, and anything that fits in the space and maintains acceptable weight limits. We also changed the folding design of the trike mast, so only the mast pivots just above the seat rail and now includes a spring-assisted mast as our Apache two-place trike has. The new spring-assisted mast on the Maverick 2 reduces the effort required to lift the wing into position, reducing the effort from lifting 83 lbs of wing to only 15 lbs! The Maverick 3 Wing also has been improved, featuring new strutted airframe components. We have increased the load rating of the wing, from 550 gross to 650 gross by a new airframe. The increased load rating is especially helpful for pilots who like to fly on floats. The Maverick 3 wing has another feature for convenient travel or storage, the ability for the wing to fold back while attached to the trike. Refer to the photos for examples of the new improvements on the Maverick 2, the perfect single-place ultralight from North Wing Design.
The Maverick 2 is a "state of the art", highly refined low profile single-place trike. This trike comes in two choices for you: Maverick 2 Legend (streamlined fairings) and Maverick 2 RT (no fairings). We are proud of our extremely comfortable seating, a must for long flights. High ground clearance is another terrific feature for off-field landings.

The Lynx "Micro System" consists of headsets which contain the intercom circuitry and their own rechargeable batteries. Two headsets can be coupled together for excellent intercom function, with each headset having its own volume control. The headsets can be used with or without the Lynx helmets. At North Wing, our main design criteria is to offer you a choice of wings that deliver easy handling, making them fun to fly. On our quest for optimal safety, we feel our #1 goal when designing wings is precise control and handling even at low speeds. When conditions out there get a little rough, we hope you will agree handling is going to be your biggest concern. Each wing design must pass specific parameters such as coupled feel in handling between pitch and roll, and a nice gentle stall. These handling pressures must fall within our tough guidelines. We feel these unique qualifications will instill confidence even when flying in turbulent conditions. Countless hours of research in sail, frame, and airfoil design have given our wings one of the largest speed range in the industry. So when you are on your way back to the airstrip and hit that dreaded head wind, you will be relieved to have chosen a North Wing. When you do choose a North Wing, you'll be happy to know you will never have to be a test pilot. We test fly and tune every wing that leaves this factory.
We have manufactured over 2000 wings and 500+ trikes. We are proud to have hundreds of Pilots who have enjoyed thousands of hours flying in our products. Our goal has always been to have our customers happy flying our product. If they are not happy then we are not happy. Whenever possible, we try to find out why any customer is not satisfied and do what we need to do to ensure their issues are resolved and enjoying North Wing products. In order to keep the fun in aviation, you need to be flying an aircraft that is not in questionable airworthiness and fly within the parameters of the aircraft and YOUR limits. We can't stress enough the importance of maintenance of these older aircraft, especially the wing. Getting the wing to a qualified wing mechanic or sending older products to the factory to have a complete sail off inspection is very important. Every two hundred hours, you should do very thorough inspections. Back when all trikes were "Ultralights" and maintenance was at the discretion of the pilot, we have found that maintenance could be nonexistent in the life of the trike and result in someone being hurt or loss of life. These tragic incidences could have been avoided with better owner care. Even though many ultralight manufacturers resisted the new Light Sport program, it has created a policy to ensure maintenance is being done, so some accidents (though few, and one is too many) can be avoided.
Something to consider when looking for a quality Trike is spare parts. North Wing is an American company, and we carry a good inventory so parts availability is only a few days away. Everyone would like to think they won't need parts... but when you do, you don't want to wait one to two months from overseas! Also, most of the tech information you can get via our web site. If you cannot find the info needed for your trike or wing there, please feel free to call one of our dealers or the factory if needed.
